Research Photography; Shooting in a Lab

Writer: timzoltietimzoltie

This week I was given the opportunity to photograph Professor Ahmed and his team at The University of Oxford for Target Ovarian Cancer. Professor Ahmed is one of Target Ovarian Cancer’s research grant recipients for his work on ‘Targeting microtubules for the treatment of ovarian cancer’ (Click here for info). The project continues to make great progress and will end in November 2016. Target Ovarian Cancer needed a selection of new research-based images for use on the website and in related publications.

The shoot took place at The John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, and was shot using both the Sony A7rII & Canon 5D Mk3. The canon 100mm 2.8 L IS Macro lens was used for the portrait shots whilst the Sony 16-35FE was used not he wide shots. Both fill in flash and ambient lighting was used to light the subjects.
